Darfur issues

• In September of 2004, there had been an estimated amount of 50,000 deaths according to the World Health Organization, mostly due to starvation.
• In October 2004 the UN News Centre reported that no women or girl is safe in Darfur due to rape and sexual assaults. Pamela Shifman, an adviser for the UN Centre, also reported that she heard dozens of horrowing accounts of sexual assaults and including lots of reports for gang- rapes.
• Since the war had broke out in 2003 and until now, there has been an estimated amount of 400,000 people that have died.
